Is your LinkedIn working for you?

Keeping your professional appearance relevant and fresh can seem unimportant can’t it?

Over the last few years, I’ve become more involved in Elite Talent Search and Engagement. This has come about from working with many senior professionals and realising how very little they prioritise their professional appearance, particularly on LinkedIn.

We’re quick to check out other professional people online but less concerned with managing our own appearance. Does this sound familiar?

If so, then it’s highly likely you’re missing out on some major advantages and opportunities in your business arena. Fact is, your LinkedIn will do the hard work for you if you manage it effectively.

Here are a few observations and common trends I spot on a daily basis;

Most LinkedIn profiles are

  • Past and present, not future-centric

  • Focused only on self, not the reader (a good profile engages)

  • Not up-to-date

 LinkedIn connections are

  • Too large or too small

  • Irrelevant

  • Static

 Professional Interests have

  • Have not been set up

  • Not kept up-to-date

 If you’d like to discuss your professional appearance on LinkedIn with me in total confidence, please get in touch.
