Summary of the SC Cleared Engineer role:

Our client is seeking an experienced SC Cleared Engineer to review Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Water Risk Assessments (WRAs), ensuring all required corrective actions are accurately identified, prioritised, and documented across multiple geographies. This interim position is suited to a professional with a background in risk assessment, technical compliance, health & safety, and corrective action planning, able to work independently from a home-based environment.

SC Cleared Engineer Deliverables / Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

  • Structured capture of all required actions identified through FRA (Fire Risk Assessments) and WRA (Water Risk Assessments).

  • Clear documentation of risks, including severity ratings, compliance impact, and required mitigation measures.

  • Development of detailed corrective action plans and associated work order requirements.

  • Verification and validation of assessment data to ensure technical accuracy and completeness.

  • Prioritisation of actions based on risk level, statutory obligations, and operational urgency.

  • Entry and structuring of actions and findings within compliance or CAFM systems.

  • Ensuring actions meet required standards under ACOP L8, HSG 274, and the Fire Safety Order.

  • Escalation of urgent or high-risk issues requiring immediate attention.

  • Preparation of progress updates and a comprehensive handover of all documented actions.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active SC (Security Check) clearance is essential.

  • Experience working with Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Water Risk Assessments (WRAs).

  • Strong understanding of risk identification, compliance requirements, and mitigation planning.

  • Ability to develop clear and structured corrective action plans and supporting work orders.

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as the Fire Safety Order, ACOP L8, and HSG 274.

  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to interpret and validate technical data from multiple risk assessments.

  • Experience with CAFM, compliance tracking, or risk management systems is beneficial.

  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple assessments concurrently.

Location: Working from Home

Travel: Minimal, as required. Applicants must hold a valid driver's license.

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Minimum 3 weeks, with potential for extension depending on project scope.

Day Rate: Competitive day rate
