Summary of the Demobilisation Manager role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Demobilisation Manager to play a critical role in the smooth, timely, and cost-effective execution of demobilisation activities for one of their Hard Services contracts. The Demobilisation Manager will work closely with operations, finance, and compliance teams to ensure proper contract closeout and successful withdrawal of personnel, equipment, materials, and resources from the contract site(s). Additionally, this role includes managing client relationships, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering key outcomes related to demobilisation. The Demobilisation Manager will be the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and ensure all obligations are met during the demobilisation phase. This role demands strong leadership, financial control, and risk management skills to ensure a seamless transition, contributing to overall contract success and client satisfaction.

Demobilisation Manager Deliverables / Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

Client Relationship & Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between our client and the main stakeholder, maintaining a productive and mutually beneficial relationship.

  • Instil confidence with senior leadership by ensuring alignment of our client's services with the client’s goals and objectives.

Demobilisation Planning & Strategy:

  • Develop and implement detailed demobilisation plans to meet contractual requirements.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure the safe and orderly withdrawal of resources and assets from the contract site(s).

  • Identify risks and create mitigation strategies for smooth operations.

Resource Management:

  • Oversee the redeployment, offboarding, or disposal of personnel, equipment, and materials involved in the contract.

  • Liaise with logistics and procurement teams to ensure the appropriate handling and movement of resources.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies (e.g. health and safety, environmental standards).

  • Manage and submit necessary documentation, including permits, certificates, and financial reports.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of all demobilisation activities and provide reports to stakeholders.

Financial & Cost Control:

  • Monitor and control costs associated with the demobilisation phase, ensuring adherence to the set budget.

  • Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers and subcontractors to optimise cost-saving opportunities.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, keeping them updated on demobilisation progress.

  • Resolve disputes or issues that arise during the demobilisation process, maintaining strong and productive relationships with key stakeholders.

Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Responsibilities:

  • Implement health and safety plans specific to demobilisation activities.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Post-Demobilisation Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct lessons-learned reviews to drive continuous improvements in the demobilisation processes.

  • Provide final reports on operational achievements, financial closeout, and compliance with contractual/legal obligations.

Partnership & Strategic Development:

  • Engage senior leadership within the public, private, and third sectors to explore new market opportunities, innovative solutions, and performance improvements.

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to align demobilisation activities with overall business goals and client needs.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Experience in building and managing relationships with senior leaders, including Chief Executives and Councillors.

  • Project & Operational Management: Strong experience in managing complex logistics, financial control, and contract closeout processes.

  • Financial Acumen: Proficient in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.

  • Risk & Compliance Management: Knowledge of HSE regulations and compliance requirements to ensure safe and efficient demobilisation.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.

  •  Problem-solving & Negotiation: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and ensure favourable outcomes during demobilisation.

  • Team Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams for effective execution of the demobilisation strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) are preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in demobilisation, decommissioning, or related contract closeout roles.

  • Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools.
